DIY Co-ords *:・゚✧

I did a little DIY project recently, consisting of buying a big dress and basically just cutting it in half to make a two piece (I think they call them co-ords?? Right?). The dress cost me 60p in a charity shop, it's black velvet and although the majority of my wardrobe is over-sized, I thought it was just a bit too over-sized so I bought it as something to do during the summer holiday.

I measured it against myself so that I cut in the right place, I wanted the t-shirt cropped but not too short.

I did a simple hem on the sewing machine. I've never actually hemmed anything before because I've always been to lazy and just left it all rough, so this was a first. Plus this was the first time I've used a sewing machine without my mum having to set it up for me haha (yes I'm getting all grown up), I had to study the instructions for ages.

For the waistband of the skirt I pretty much followed this video.

Yay! Now pose around in your really easy to make, new co-ord set! (With Hello Kitty because why not?)

It's actually too hot at the moment to wear this outfit, it seems like forever since I've worn my black Dr Martens...but I'm trying not too moan so much about the summery weather because it makes everyone so happy.

I've worn each piece separately though with different outfits, so that's cool.

Ok I just remebered this song and now I can't leave it out. I'M SORRY.

Happy thoughts to everyone, I hope you're all enjoying your summer!
