All these things that humans do to leave behind a little proof

This was me on 31st December 2014. That was last year.

I'm one of those people who is obsessed with recording everything, like, this post is insignificant and isn't going to say anything deep and meaningful, but in a month's time, or a year's time, or longer, I'll come back and I'll be able to see myself back then and that's cool. I'll be able to remember that candy necklace that I got from a wedding, and my freakily long, thin plaits (which are getting cut tomorrow, eeek!), and my gross spot break out lol. All the little details are nice to record because they're the things you wouldn't necessarily remember naturally.

~ My jar of happy things from 2014 ~
I totally recommend you do this because it's so fun opening it up on New Year's Eve and reading about all the cool and funny stuff that happened over the year. I'm already excited about filling it up again this year and reading them haha.

Sort of on the topic of recording and remembering things = this new Marina and the Diamonds song. I've loved all of the songs she has released from Froot so far so I think I will possibly/probably buy it when it comes out.

Apart from just liking the song and the video and Marina in general, I can kind of relate to some of the lyrics. Not that I want to be immortal or anything, just where she sings about wanting your life to mean something and be significant, to leave behind proof that you've lived, that kind of thing.

So yeah, I'm looking forward to this year, although it's scary. I'm going to start driving (argh help), take my A Levels (argh help), but also I'm leaving school (hooray) so that will mean more arty things, and also I'll hopefully be doing more exciting music things this year. I'm also going to Prague in February. and I'm going to be eighteen in the summer (what???)...basically 2015 will be a big year!!

I hope you all have a great year too, thank you for reading my lil blog. I look forward to finding more blogs to stalk read and more people to chat with this year ٩◔‿◔۶

For the first time, I actually have posts planned! I have photos that need sharing, and also a really cool idea for a kind of photo shoot (that sounds too professional but whatever). Watch this space hehe, also I'm feeling inspired by The Dainty Squid to do a 365 project this year. I'm not sure if it will happen but we'll see.

✿ Happy New Year!

  2. this is such a beautiful post. I started a jar of memories in 2014 but I didn't particularly stick to it, which is my ultimate downfall - not sticking to things. I may try and stick to one this year as the few memories I had in my jar really lifted my spirits when I was sad. I'm super excited for Marina's album too. I just recently came across your blog and I'm super excited to keep reading it! Sending you lots of love and positive vibes for 2015!
