Underneath our feet, crystals grow like plants

In half term I went to London for three days, it was so much fun. We were proper tourists and did pretty much all of the big landmarks and I took soo many photos (as in over seven hundred). Here's a very brief overview, beginning with the bumbag, a must for any stylish traveler.

Complete with secret Mars Bar carrier.

One of my favourite parts was Brick Lane, it was only a very quick trip because I kind of dragged my family there but it was cool anyway.

Rokit was a dream, I wish I could have spent longer there because it was literally get in, have the quickest look at like two rails, try on dungarees in record time (take selfies ofc), get changed, pay (chat with till dude), then run out again. But it was super cool because the (really cute) guy at the till said he liked my hair (space buns for the win) and then we talked about Björk and he said she'd been seen just down the road recently and I was like ahh no way. He also said I had good taste. It seriously made my life.

And so here comes the smooooth transition into my next topic

Simultaneously a musical genius and the cutest human being ever to exist on this here planet Earth. Fact.

So apart from being continually inspired in the hair department, I have also been busy catching up on twenty plus years of crazy awesome music. It's hard to pick a favourite song, may even impossible, because she has created such a huge and diverse collection, there aren't many I've heard that I haven't loved. When I started this post my favourite was Unravel and I sat on my bed doing art for a few hours with it on repeat. It's beautiful. Then I discovered Unison which is ahh so good, and so intricate, like you can hear these little noises that sound like insects in the background and everything. Ok I'm not going to do a little intro to every song I like cause that would take forever..but my favourite today is Crystalline.

not an exhaustive list btw

She's up there with Imogen Heap and Kate Bush in my books, my top trio of singers who are just completely themselves, and completely experimental, and mind-blowingly creative. They totally own their music, they don't conform to tradition or to what's popular, and they put so much of themselves into each song.
I didn't really make the link with Imogen Heap until I watched this video, which reminded me of this video. Obviously the two projects are totally different but it just amazes me how both women are taking music and creating things so unimaginable and unheard of. It's so clever.

I just love how one little woman is so powerful. She has full artistic control, she can choose how she wants to portray herself.

She can be sweet. She can be sensual. And she can be terrifying. I think that is awesome.

Exhibit A: Björk pretending to be David Attenborough, being adorable.

Exhibit B: Björk singing very beautifully and poetically about, basically sex.

Exhibit C: Björk ripping up a teddy bear.

I am so in love with the Icelandic accent and her mind is so complex, I just like listening to her talk. She's also really funny, and super sassy.

See examples:

oh and not forgetting

Don't even get me started on her style. Her stage outfits are works of art, and the candid, everyday snaps of her reveal a look that, for me, is reminiscent of Helena Bonham Carter's. Sort of, throw everything on chic, layers are your best friend, stripy socks are essential, that kind of thing. That's what style is to me, wear whatever the heck you love.

So in summation, London was great, Björk is fantastic.
I'll leave you with a few, or five, fab videos, enjoy (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
